Best of Project 1

This project was to help us explore our cameras, the different scene modes, messing with the exposure, moving around so we can see how subjects look from different angles in different places. After we took the pictures we also explored Lightroom and figured out different things we could do with editing, etc. These were my results:

I really love this photo because even though it's dead, it's still looks very much alive.
The slightly blurred background emphasizes the detail of the pollen things, also the spiky leaf  in the foreground is another little detail that's interesting.

This photo is interesting because it reminds me a little bit of a black and white photo, that had specific bits dyed, and the clarity of the dew drops really draws the eye. Also, the way that the wall in the background is blurred it makes the viewer wonder what is that? Because it looks somewhat interesting, but you can't really tell what it is.

I really really like this photo because of the weird depth of field, of you aren't familiar with the statue where I took this than you can't really tell what the focus is on, you think it might be eyes but it's sort of hard to tell. I also like how the blue inside the bird and on the beak is popping.

I really love the contrast that this picture has, granted when I took this photo it wasn't that pronounced, but after editing, you can really see the difference between the bright whiteness of the spiderweb and the dark underside of the wing. If you look closely there is so much detail in the spiderweb that I really like, and in the upper left corner, once it gets dark again you can see the web continued which I think is super cool.

This photo is similar to the first one, but I just really really like how you can really see the softness of  the petals, and the gental curves, so even though you can't actually feel the petals, you know how soft they are. Also the way the water is in focus, and even how they're even sort of reflecting the sky if you look close. I really like that.

I had an incredible summer this year, the very last week of summer we went up to a park called Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario. We went up there for about 8 days and canoe camped, which is like backpacking, except you're paddling around on different lakes throughout the park. I think we made it to 11 this year. It was certainly the hottest it's ever been while our family's been up, but it was also possibly maybe one of the loveliest weeks we've seen in the park. The rest of my summer had been taken up by working at YMCA camp silver creek. I'd been going there as a camping for the past 9 years, but this was my first year working as staff, so that was great. It was also silver creek's big 75th anniversary, which was a major deal and I believe we had about 600 people show up to celebrate that(alumni and their families etc..) so that was very special to be a part of. I really did have just a really good summer, and it will be missed.
